But I just decided against it. I’m finally catching up on sleep not that my granny isn’t staying with us, but I’m still so tired. Also WordPress and my computer aren’t getting along. But I’ll probably be back on this weekend. We’ll probably be going somewhere with internet, be that the hospital where my grandma is or her house. I don’t know how much longer she has guys, but honestly, I hope her time comes soon. No one deserves this kind of pain.

The Art of Love

Summary: Rattles has a huge crush on Sue Ellen. They have an art class together that lets him see her every day. But when some horseplay causes him to ruin her painting, he has to find a way to make it up to her. Can Rattles fix the damage? Can they ever be together?

Sue Ellen had her tongue stuck out slightly with concentration. The entire canvas depended on her making careful brush strokes, which meant ignoring the loud class around her. She was in an art class at Elwood City High, and judging by the daily noise and confusion, most of the kids thought the high school was a zoo instead. Sue Ellen did her best to ignore them, but today, the piece had to be perfect to complete her artistic vision.

Suddenly the canvas leaped off the easel and onto the floor, causing her to paint across the entire painting as it nearly fell into her lap. Sue Ellen cried out in horror as the boy responsible appeared in her field of vision.

Through the Glass

Summary: Muffy wins a contest to be on her favorite celebrity’s talk show. She thinks this is a great honor, but she’ll soon discover her opportunity comes with several life lessons as well.

Muffy nearly pranced around Lakewood Elementary’s cafeteria as she showed off her winning hat design. She had won a design contest just the evening before, and the entire school now knew exactly who she was and what she’d done. She was only in fourth grade, yet her popularity rivaled every fifth grader in the school, and Muffy didn’t mind one bit. She was thrilled to be so amazing at such a young age, and winning this contest was just one more thing to make her better than everyone else.

Buster was thirteen and itching to be alone. It was that magical time of year, Summer Vacation, when parents tended to leave their children home alone more often. Today was one of those days, and he lay in bed anxiously awaiting that mystical sound: The front door closing.

Buster twitched. The sound was late. He decided to go downstairs, where he found his mother lying on the couch covered in sweat. She was coughing as she looked towards the television, which was on a Spanish soap opera. Buster grimaced: his mother was obviously very sick.

Bitter Winds

Summary: Elwood City is in the middle of a vicious cold snap when the worst happens-Marinna Datillo goes missing. Her classmates are concerned for her welfare, but the city seems oblivious thanks to a new developer’s new tourist trap, which has barred local residents from entering. Marina’s friends think this author is involved, but would be that cruel?

The wind blew strong on the dark day as a bleak winter fell over Elwood City. Arthur and Fern stepped into the Sugar Bowl, bundled from head to toe. Inside, Marina and Buster sat at a back table. Though it was the furthest from the door, a bitter wind swept to the back of the restaurant.
